Delicious Delectable Dining
The colour turquoise is associated with youth, vitality and love, so it’s no surprise we love this young and vital take on that most traditional of rooms – the dining room!
What makes this room so fresh and inviting?
-
The colour is bold and daring, bright and happy. The single colour palette is very powerful.
-
The use of the dining banquette is an inspired touch – banquettes are always appealing (if there’s one in a café or restaurant, don’t you want to sit on it?!) because they’re soft, squishy and more intimate than a chair, plus they are a great space saving trick.
-
The funky mirror picks up the circular motif of the dining chair backs and creates unity.
-
The highly unusual idea of wall mounting the Foo dog ornaments is intriguing, fun, and helps frame the setting.
-
A dark wood table adds contrast to the white of the chairs and the pale walls, as well as introducing another texture.
-
The fulsome window treatment adds glamour – curtains, drapes and pelmets are making a comeback! Love how they drape on the floor.
-
Most of all, the fact that the table, chairs and banquette are all different and not part of a – horrors! – matching set, is the key to this relaxed take on a formal dining room.
To get the look with Eco Chic, our Luanne chairs come in light and dark finish and are just like the ones featured, we can also make custom seat pads for you in the fabric of your choice. The Eva Dining banquette is an exciting new addition to our range and can be upholstered in terrific turquoise, or any fabric you want. The Lachlan and Wayfarer dining table works well with the Luanne chairs and is a nice dark timber. Our Luanne mirror goes perfectly with the dining chairs, or you could try the Giselle. If these are too dark, we can custom paint them white, just send us a request. No dining setting is complete without some mood lighting, so check out our Charlize Glass candle urns. We don’t have Foo Dogs yet, but we have the most fabulous pair of turquoise ceramic parrots coming this month…stay tuned.
