Mirror Mirror on the Wall

We know too many mirrors in the bedroom can be a bit tacky, but this is just divine!! This glamorous, rich and original bedroom designed by Jeff Macnamara screams taste without screaming decorator.
How do they make it look so effortless?
-
The trifold mirror screens soften the corners of a very small room and open it right up. Bay having them reflect all different angles, the effect is quite dynamic..
-
The big myth out there is that dark walls make a room look smaller. When there is enough light, they just make a room look richer and the bed and besides absolutely pop in front of that rich grey. Imagine this room with white walls…boring.
-
The colour scheme is not overly matched or contrived. The bottle green colour of the lamps plays off the flowers and a stripe in the accent cushion which ties in with the vintage suitcases, and the painting doesn’t match anything…it is just as it should be –ART.
-
The console table at the end of the bed instead of ottomans or a chest is truly inspired, and why not? It acts like a kind of footboard and a beautiful surface to create your own personal tableau.
-
Instead of a headboard, they have opted for a large work of art with a light over it that can also serve as a bit of reading light…money well spent.
To Get The Look with Eco Chic – our new Finola Bedspread in white will keep things crisp. Throw on a set of Ajour Italian Cotton sheets and you will never want to get out of bed. For a simple console table try the Wayfarer in timber or the Shari console in pressed tin. For splash of colour on the bedsides, the Sofia Table Lamps always pack a punch. Finally, for a large colourful work of art to put over the bed our you cant go past our Aboriginal Tjukula Wall hanging.
