Turquoise & Toile

The dazzling colour combo in this room designed by Massucco Warner Miller caught our attention, and held it, too. We love the clever use of built in features to transform an awkward space into the best spot in the house, and the ‘look-at-me’ raspberry and turquoise tones are so fresh against the crisp white.
Why does this look work so well?
-
The use of book shelves to create the walls around a built in day bed is surprising but successful. It creates intimacy and invites relaxation.
-
The bold colours provide high contrast, but harmonise delightfully, and the white creates the perfect foil to their strength.
-
The plain blocks of turquoise provide a the solid backdrop to the busier patterns on the headboard and cushions. With pattern a good rule is not too much, not too little...think Goldilocks.
-
The pendant light adds the drama, while the two wall mounted lights are a resourceful way to use the space and provides reading light... Plus they’re darling!
-
The nik-naks on the shelves are informal and ‘real’, making sure that the space is for living, not just for show. They keep it from being too matchy matchy.
To get the look with Eco Chic try our Gracie headboard in a fantastic array of patterns. For the bed our white B&B bedspread and Temple organic sheets should keep your guest comfortable. If you love this colour combo try a wall in Dulux Cape Pond paint and if you just cant go past the Raspberry Toile fabric (and we can’t) and you have a bit of time to wait, we can even get this exact print for you (it’s from the States).
