The Collector

While normally we shun anything resembling "clutter"  we think this space featured in Lonny Magazine is a beautiful example of organized chaos.  The layers of wonderful detail create an inviting and personal space that is both striking and timeless.

What makes this vignette of collectibles so utterly appealing...

• This gorgeous shade of coral on the wall is just divine!  The trick with coral is that is has to be a perfect blend of red , orange and pink, without actually being too much of any of them.
• The use of such a strong colour is balanced with lots of white and light in the ceiling. floor, art and accessories.
• There are lots of accessories on this console but they are artfully organized and balanced.  There are different groupings...1 lamp, 2 plants, 3 bowls, 4 stacks of books.  Very well thought out!
• The very large mirror is contrasted nicely with lots of small pieces of art in different frames for that eclectic "collector" look.
• The console is a real character pieces...nice and crusty.  Its says "soulful" rather than "trendy".
• A basket tucked under a console always looks great.  Another good choice is an ottoman or two.
