Lazy Days

Why do we relate so well to this room designed by Kimberly Hall?  Many reasons, but the main one is that it speaks of summer promise, books to read, wine to sip and being terribly busy doing nothing the whole day long. 

What are the elements that make this room so enchanting...

• The colour palette of the rug has been used as the anchor for the room and picked up in accent cushions and accessories
• You can't go past tangerine and turquoise for the colours of this summer - bright, fresh and striking they add fun to any room
• Timeless, crisp white of the day bed is the perfect balance to the saturated colours of the cushions and is picked up in the walls, drapery and shapely organic side table
• Pattern and solid colour is mixed and matched with no rule followed other than selecting from complementary colour families
• Built in furniture is always a winner and a built in day bed or window seat will always add value and style to a home
• The ceiling drapery works beautifully in this room as it references a room in the tropics or an exotic souk and makes the whole look dreamy
• The fern like wall pieces break up the white walls and bring the outdoors in
