We are super impressed with how this space makes the most of a long and narrow entry. It is both chic and playful, making for a fantastic first impression when you walk in the door.
Just what is so clever about this room?…lets break it down.
-
White, white and more white! Notice the walls ceiling and floor are all a super stark white, no creams here. They create the perfect backdrop for punches of black and colour.
-
They have artfully used black as a “framing” colour. By putting a bit on the left side, right side, door and ceiling, the space feel beautifully balanced.
-
There are fun bits of pattern and textures used on the cushion, lamp base, painting and lights. This keeps the space lively and not boring.
-
Always throw in something a bit whimsical, like this owl stool. It shows confidence and all the best designers do it…very Kelly Wearstler.
-
An old trick that always works is layering art and mirrors. Notice how the painting is just leaning against that divine gold mirror…looks casual and cool.
To Get The Look with Eco Chic – our
Emery Chairs come in a gorgeous aqua velvet. We have a number of mirrors, but the textural quality of the
Luanne would fit the bill perfectly…oooh you could even paint it gold! For a nice dark console, try the
Wellington desk. Stick a little stool or Maddie ottoman under it for effect. The
Claudine, is a lovely shaped gourd lamp, and we could make a
custom shade for you in a great black and white pattern. Finally, we have ceramic garden stools (unfortunately no owls) in all different colours coming on Thursday.
